RESISTANCE IS NOT FUTILE

One Spark Has Ignited a Nation
WHO IS BEING RESISTED?

WHO IS BEING RESISTED?

The Indivisible approach for resistance is "purely focused on stopping Trump from implementing an agenda built on racism, authoritarianism, and corruption." Kansas Indivisible stands whole-heartedly with others around the nation willing to put in the time and energy it takes to build a strong foundation for successful political opposition, and to pave the way for the 2018 midterm elections when we reclaim power in Washington.

WHAT IS BEING RESISTED?

WHAT IS BEING RESISTED?

The goal of the Indivisible movement is to "stall the Trump agenda by forcing them (Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress) to redirect energy away from their priorities." Specifically, the movement will: 1) Sap Representatives’ will to support or drive reactionary change 2) Reaffirm the illegitimacy of the Trump agenda, and 3) Demonstrate the depth and power of the opposition to Trump and to Republican congressional overreach.

WHEN DOES RESISTANCE TAKE PLACE?

WHEN DOES RESISTANCE TAKE PLACE?

Events taking place in Washington are happening at what seems to be the speed of light. Nearly every day something comes out of our government that slaps our Constitution in the face. We have to be vigilant. Every day we must fight against the destruction of our nation that is threatening our democracy. We call. We write. We follow our Representatives to their in-district public appearances. We pressure them night and day. Day in and day out.

WHERE DOES RESISTANCE TAKE PLACE?

WHERE DOES RESISTANCE TAKE PLACE?

Everywhere. In our newspapers via letters to the editor. On social media where we promote our cause and spread the dysfunctional news out of Washington. On our lunch hours when we call Washington or a local office to voice our concern on a given topic. In our churches when we speak with others about our efforts and recruit them into our ranks. The resistance does not rest or take a vacation.

HOW IS RESISTANCE DONE?

HOW IS RESISTANCE DONE?

The Indivisible approach to resistance is purely defensive. There is no time at this point to promote our agenda. We must continually say NO to theirs. We promote a local strategy to target our individual Members of Congress (MoCs). Indivisible groups focus on these tactics: Town halls, other local public events, district office visits, and coordinated calls, emails, and postcard writing campaigns. Each action focuses on a single topic.

WHY ARE WE RESISTING?

WHY ARE WE RESISTING?

A group of former Congressional staffers wrote "INDIVISIBLE: A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR RESISTING THE TRUMP AGENDA" as a best practices "how-to" manual for people who believe in protecting our values, our neighbors, and ourselves. Mounting a resistance built on inclusion, tolerance, and fairness is the only tool we have to fight against Trump’s racism, authoritarianism, and corruption.

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. ” — PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
